Key points

An adult manages each child's account. AdeoLearn supports learning but does not replace school, a teacher or professional advice. Our materials are CBC-aligned; Adeo Labs Ltd does not claim publisher licensing, official approval or endorsement unless we expressly say so.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and Adeo Labs Ltd, a company registered in Kenya and the operator of AdeoLearn. “You” means the adult who visits the site, joins the waitlist, creates or manages an account, purchases a plan, or authorises a learner to use the service.

By using AdeoLearn, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use AdeoLearn for a school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. AdeoLearn and early access

AdeoLearn provides gamified, CBC-aligned learning activities, progress tools and related family or educator features. During early access, some features may be experimental, incomplete or changed in response to feedback. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee admission by a particular date, continued access or a specific feature.

3. Eligibility, children and adult responsibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract to create or manage an account, join the waitlist, or purchase a plan. A child may use learner features only through an account created or authorised by a parent, legal guardian, school or educator with the necessary authority and consent.

The responsible adult must supervise the child's use, provide accurate age or grade information, review settings, and decide if activities are appropriate. Schools and educators are responsible for obtaining all notices, permissions and consents required before providing learner data or enabling access.

4. Accounts and security

Information you provide must be accurate and kept current. Keep login details confidential, use reasonable security measures and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity on accounts under your control unless applicable law provides otherwise.

We may ask for reasonable evidence of identity, age, authority or parental consent, especially before allowing access to a learner's personal data.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use AdeoLearn unlawfully or in a way that harms, exploits, bullies or endangers a child or any other person;
  • submit another person's data without authority or upload sensitive data that is not required;
  • share adult credentials with an unauthorised person or bypass age, access, safety or security controls;
  • copy, scrape, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the service except where law expressly permits it;
  • introduce malicious code, overload the service, probe vulnerabilities or interfere with another user; or
  • misrepresent progress, impersonate another person or use the service for cheating or academic misconduct.

We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect learners, users, AdeoLearn or the public.

6. CBC-aligned learning content

AdeoLearn materials are designed to be CBC-aligned, meaning they are intended to support skills and learning areas associated with Kenya's Competency Based Curriculum. This description does not mean Adeo Labs Ltd is licensed as a publisher or that AdeoLearn is approved, accredited, endorsed or certified by the Ministry of Education, the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development or any other authority.

AdeoLearn supplements learning. It does not replace school attendance, teaching, assessment by a qualified educator, or advice from a learning, medical or other professional. Quests, suggested levels, progress indicators and feedback are educational aids, not guarantees of grades, examination outcomes or academic improvement. Parents and educators should use their judgement and raise learning concerns with an appropriate professional.

7. Paid plans, renewals and cancellation

If we introduce paid plans, the price, billing period, included features, renewal terms and any trial conditions appear before purchase. You authorise us and our payment provider to charge the selected payment method. Taxes or network charges may apply.

Where a plan renews automatically, we disclose that fact and provide a way to cancel future renewals. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless applicable law requires otherwise. Refunds, corrections and remedies are provided as stated at purchase and as required by the Kenya Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms removes a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Intellectual property

AdeoLearn, including its software, learning materials, quests, artwork, designs, text, trademarks and other content, belongs to Adeo Labs Ltd or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

While your account is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the service for personal, family or expressly authorised classroom learning. You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us only the permission reasonably needed to host, process and display that content to operate the service.

If you send feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.

9. Third-party services and links

AdeoLearn may rely on or link to third-party services such as video, hosting, form, payment or school-platform providers. Their terms and privacy notices may apply to their services. We are not responsible for independent third-party content or conduct, but this does not limit any responsibility we have under applicable law for providers acting on our instructions.

10. Changes, availability and disclaimers

We aim to keep AdeoLearn safe and useful, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may maintain, update, add, remove or discontinue features. Where a material change affects a paid service, we give reasonable notice when practicable and provide any remedy required by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not exclude warranties, guarantees or remedies that Kenyan or other applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Responsibility and limits of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is unlawful, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

Subject to those protections, Adeo Labs Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunity or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. For a paid service, our total liability arising from that service does not exceed the fees you paid us for the affected service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not reduce mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.

12. Suspension, cancellation and deletion

You may stop using AdeoLearn at any time and, when account tools become available, cancel through the account settings or contact us. We may suspend or end access for a material or repeated breach, non-payment, security risk, harm to a child or another user, legal requirement, or discontinuation of the service. Where appropriate, we provide notice and a chance to correct the issue.

Account closure is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. Terms that by their nature should continue—such as ownership, accrued payment obligations, liability limits and dispute provisions—remain in effect.

13. Changes to these terms and governing law

We may update these terms as the service or law changes. We post the revised date and give reasonable notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms, except where law requires fresh consent.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern fairly. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction, without depriving you of any mandatory right to bring a consumer or privacy claim in another competent forum.
